Many doctors want to talk sense to a patient when they have no real understanding of why the patient makes false or contradictory remarks. They will try to talk sense when they should be trying to understand the peculiar situation that makes the patient tell them something that isn't so. Here's a perfectly normal person in a trance state, demonstrating the extent to which knowledge can be kept out of the mind. To her, all people are wrong when they say that isn't a blank card. Everybody's wrong. There is no doubt at all in her mind. Somehow or other, she cannot see that writing.
